Balancing clinical professionalism with a calm coastal character
Coastal Dental Studio is a self-directed identity concept created for a modern dental practice. The objective was to develop a clean and trustworthy visual identity that communicated professional care without feeling cold, intimidating or overly clinical.
The final concept combines a simplified tooth symbol with a restrained coastal-inspired palette and clear typography. The identity was then applied to a professional letterhead to demonstrate how the visual system could operate across patient and business communication.
Challenge
Dental practices need to communicate cleanliness, credibility and technical expertise while also helping patients feel comfortable and reassured. The challenge was to create an identity that felt professional and healthcare-appropriate without appearing sterile or impersonal.
Approach
I combined a recognisable tooth symbol with a compact geometric frame to create a mark that was immediately relevant to dental care. Blue tones were used to communicate trust and professionalism, while the warm neutral accent softened the identity and introduced a more welcoming character.
Outcome
The completed concept gives Coastal Dental Studio a clean and credible visual identity supported by a practical stationery application suitable for professional communication.
